This portal is to encourage and promote sustainable living by giving access to information about environmental friendly products and services.

It also provides access to background information on environmental issues generally.

The contents cover the following:

    1. products and services and
    2. environmental and social organizations in Penang.
  2. Green Tips - which gives ideas or conservation and sustainable consumption.
  3. Green Dictionary – provides an A – Z to the Malaysian Environment.
  4. Green Poems – Poems on Environment and Sustainable development
  5. Green Voices – Audio and visual material on environmental issues based on interviews with the community, experts and activists.
  6. Green Laws – Legislation relating to the environment in Malaysia
  7. Green Charters – International Declarations for protecting and promoting the environment eg. Earth Charter.
  8. Green Links – other useful websites

Greenpages Penang represents a partnership between an international NGO the Pesticide Action Network Asia Pacific (PAN AP), Save Our Selves (SOS), a grassroots community group and a community centered IT company Surforever Sdn. Bhd.

The initiative is part of the programme of the Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development, a project of the United Nations University based in Tokyo, Japan and Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang.
